When Life Is Too Full
Gracious God, when the surface of my days is a montage of distractions, I oftentimes react by adding even more to the chaos. More things to divert me, more responsibilities to energize me, more food to comfort me, more sleep to numb me, more activities to make me happy. I create a life bloated by that which ultimately leaves me empty, when my soul could find true nourishment by simply being in your presence. Give me grace to simply stop. Help me clear away the clutter and create empty spaces in my soul where I can hear your whisper. I ask this for the sake of your love. Amen.
