Knowing If You’re in the Right Church

One way to know if you are in the right church is when you feel the presence of God shaping and strengthening your soul. That is not to say that you will never experience difficulty or conflict in the church you choose to belong to, because all churches are made up of imperfect people! But, if you feel your soul being fed and you see that your life is changing—you are becoming more compassionate and loving, for example—then you are probably in the place where you need to be for this period in your life. There may come a time when you need to make a change because your soul has moved to a different place, but always remember that whenever you seek God, you will find God, and wherever you seek God, you will find God. You are precious and loved by God; no matter what church you choose to attend.

To try: Visit a church this week that you have never been to before and see if you feel the presence of God there.

Scripture for reflection:
“When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
